MG 1/100 Freedom Gundam
The ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam is one of the new Gundam designs built by ZAFT. The Freedom Gundam is equipped with a wide variety of powerful weapons for use in its HiMAT (High Mobility Aerial Tactics) mode. One of these weapons is the twin "Balaena" plasma beam cannons, which are stored in the wings and mounted over the shoulders during use. The Freedom Gundam's other main armament consists of twin hip-mounted "Xiphias" rail cannons. Other standard armaments include head vulcans, twin beam sabers and a beam rifle. Anyways, I already snap built this kit on December 2010. Now, I'm going to add a little extra detail, like panel line and a bit of metal, then decals, paint, then a matte finish.
Here are the list of tools that I will be using for this project:
- Of course, the kit itself
- panel line scriber
- dymo tape (will explain why later for those who don't know what this is for in modeling)
- sand papers
- cutter/hobby knife
- pen/pencil
- pla plates
- hobby cement/super glue (not included in the picture)
- ruler (also not included in the picture)

Let"s just fast forward for it a bit. I'm a bit behind schedule as this is by far the most that I have done with this thing. Hope I can finish this by the end of this month (April, 2012)
Update (April 13, 2012)
I've sharpened the V-fin for the freedom. And that's about it. :p
This is my first time sharpening a V-fin and I'm still a bit scared of overdoing it so the outcome is not that sharp. Still, I think it looks better than the blunt V-fin that Bandai gives us on every kit...

By the way, I used a DIY sanding stick to sand down the V-fins. I just taped a 400 and a 1000 grit on two popsicle sticks since I'm too cheap to actually buy one (plus the nearest hardware store is quite a ways away).
Until the next update~
Update (April 22, 2012)
Dang.. I'm supposed to finish this in two weeks and I'm still far from finishing it. Not to mention the tools I need to buy.
Anyways, I did a bit more scribing, mainly on the skirts (front and back) and a bit on the left leg. Hope I'll finish scribing all the parts by Wednesday else it's sleepless nights for me by next week... ><

Update (May 3, 2012)
This is taking longer than I thought.. But I got a lot of things done now and I'm nearing the completion of scribing panel lines to the entire kit. Here's a preview of what the legs look like:

I hate scribing the legs... There's so much parts to go through. At least the arms and the body doesn't have much detail to work on. My next challenge will be the Freedom's wings.
Until the next update!

Update (May 30, 2012)
So, as expected I did not make the two week deadline and did not make it to the contest. However, since the deadline has been lifted, this now became a more "relaxed" type of build for me. Finished scribing and painting the left leg. Added the clear stickers as well.
There are still a lot of mistakes to go through and I'm still no master at doing this, but C&C's are very much welcome. :)
